Abstract: A Goldmans Sachs executive and her private equity partner husband are cashing in on their mansion, which has a guide price three times what they bought it for a decade ago.

Records show the five-bedroom home at 1 Wallaroy Cres, Woollahra, was bought by Marissa Freund, managing director and head of Australia and New Zealand mergers and acquisitions at Goldman Sachs, and her husband, James, a partner at private equity fund Next Capital. The building was built in the 1920s and is owned by James Murphy, a partner at private equity fund Next Capital.

The 547-square-meter home, built in the 1920s, was a solid investment for the couple, who paid $5 million in 2013.

Now Alex Lyons of Raine and Horne Double Bay has listed the property for sale in an expression of interest campaign at a guide price of A$14-15 million, although they must have spent quite a bit of money on recent renovations.

A promotional video on the realestate.com.au website shows Lyons touring the magnificent property, from which the quality of the renovation is evident.

As Lyons puts it, it's "perfectly finished".

The formal and informal living and dining areas are simple and elegant, with plenty of natural light.

The entry hall features a jet gas fireplace, high ceilings, and herringbone wood floors throughout.

The marble kitchen is equipped with top-of-the-line European appliances, and the interior decor extends to the entertaining terrace overlooking the swimming pool in the landscaped gardens.

Other features include an integrated Liebherr refrigerator/freezer, separate wine cooler, zippered faucets, walk-in pantry, custom cabinetry, ductwork for ventilation, kitchen and bathrooms;

Three of the bedrooms have ensuites.

One of the top floor bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom, perfect for an au pair or guest accommodation.
