Abstract: In a relatively secluded enclave on Sydney's North Shore, a classic 1930s sandstone villa on 2,112 square metres of waterfront property has come to the market.

This elegant five-bedroom, three-bathroom family home is located at 64 Cliff Road in Northwood, where it boasts elevated views of the Lane Cove riverfront.

Neil Harper, selling agent for Forsyth Real Estate Willoughby, says the home's prestigious address is just one of its many features.

"Northwood is full of well-maintained homes for the wealthy, but this suburb remains relatively obscure, making it one of Sydney's best-kept secrets," he explains.

"It is also ranked as the second smallest suburb in Sydney."

Originally built in 1934, the three-storey home underwent architectural refurbishment in 1999 and 2004, transforming it into a luxurious entertainment venue.

It has an elegant open-plan living area that flows out onto a charming terrace for entertaining guests and a formal lounge next to the library or media room.

Mr Harper says that despite the size of the house, it is also very liveable.

"It has an air of tranquillity that is often lacking in larger homes."

A flexible floor plan includes a spectacular upper level parent's lounge and a large study with views of the city skyline, as well as a separate lower level teen lounge or guest suite.

"The sellers loved being able to have the separate downstairs area occupied for security purposes when they were stationed abroad for an extended period of time," says Mr Harper.

Outdoor entertaining is equally impressive, showcasing an infinity pool with sandstone terraces and neatly manicured gardens cascading down to the water's edge.

There is also a kayak launching ramp and waterside caves for the children to discover.

Other features include a stone gas kitchen with breakfast bar, stylish modern bathrooms and a 4-car garage with workshop.

The home is within easy reach of the prestigious St Ignatius Riverside Academy and St Joseph's College and falls within the jurisdiction of Lane Cove Public School and Hunters Hill High School.

The property is also well located for quick access to the Central Business District and is only a three minute walk to the City Ferry at Northwood Quay.

Mr Harper said the property had attracted strong interest from local and international Sydney buyers, as well as Northwood residents looking to upgrade to a waterfront property.
