Abstract: A new price benchmark has been set in Paddington with the $14 million sale of Brompton, a duplex townhouse that has been carefully transformed into a charming estate.

The adjacent home at 238-240 Glenmore Road (pictured above) is the brainchild of Jacqueline Bailey and her daughter, Lily Van Lente, who spent years transforming the landmark home.

Bailey bought 240 Glenmore Road for $3.725 million in 2015 and 238 a year later for $5 million.

The Victorian terrace now boasts 16 meters of frontage and a private courtyard for five cars, with a total of five bedrooms and five bathrooms on four levels.

Local legend has it that the original mirror image house was built by their father in 1880 for twin sisters.

The Brompton features globally sourced fittings, European-style luxury interiors, a plunge pool/spa and city skyline views.
