Abstract: A century-old home in Wahroonga's 'Golden Triangle' has attracted hundreds of potential buyers.

The property at 12 Burns Road received more than 500 enquiries in its first six days on the market.

Nick Muzza, agent at McGrath, says: "The response has been very good and we were getting 30 to 40 calls a day at the beginning."

"At the first inspection we had 40, then 25 ...... Things have slowly calmed down but builders are coming in with a lot of enquiries."

The late estate was last sold in 1923 and has been home to three generations of the same family over the years.

The listing describes it as a "unique opportunity for a prestige location".

"Builders and renovators seeking a once-in-a-lifetime project will be thrilled with this rare opportunity," it says.

The original all-brick house has intricate period detailing, high ceilings, ornate features and large bedrooms.

Mr Muzha said the property was located in a conservation area, but the house was not World Heritage listed.

"There are a lot of buyers who want to restore it," he said.

"You can see it in its former glory. A lot of locals have said they don't want to see it knocked down."

He said the site was part of Wahuronga's 'Golden Triangle', 500 metres from Wahuronga station and shops and close to Knox Grammar, Abbotsley and Wahuronga Public School.

The guide price for this 1526 sqm property is $3.6 million.

PropTrack data shows that the median house price in Wahroonga in the last 12 months was $2.5 million.

Another two-bedroom home in need of repair, 16 Burns Rd, recently came off the market for $4.1 million, Muzza said.

The auction will be held on June 3 at 12 noon.
