Amid a rental crisis where Sydneysiders are queuing for hours to check available stock and cut household expenses to afford inflated rental prices, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom flat at 1A Barangaroo Ave is being offered for sale at $9,500 per week.
The successful tenant will also move into the same building as billionaire James Packer.
Mr Packer will pay $60 million for the two-storey residence at Crown Sydney at Barangaroo, which sits halfway up the hill from the luxury high-rise development and will include a casino for high-rollers.
This is the largest three-bedroom flat available for rent at Crown Residences, with 200 square metres of interior space.
Despite the price tag, tenants will have views of Sydney Harbour, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
Vanguarde's Mitchell Ferguson is managing the lease of 03/1 Barangaroo Ave in Barangaroo, which is rented at $9,000 per week.
Mr Ferguson told The Daily Telegraph that most of the flats in Crown Towers will be owner-occupied.
"Crown Towers has received a high level of interest because these properties are so unique. There's nothing like these flats and once you've seen them, it's hard to imagine yourself living anywhere else.
"People looking at Crown Towers are families who are renovating/building new homes, entrepreneurs, business owners, CEOs, part-time tenants with properties in NSW, interstate or overseas.
"Barangaroo has a strong and stable rental market. Renters are always attracted to the area for its desirable location, both for work and lifestyle."
Construction of the Crown Towers first began in October 2016 and was completed in March 2020.
Due to the pandemic, the public were not allowed access to the building until December of that year.
The Crown Residences bills itself as a six-star luxury building with a 24-hour concierge service, valet parking and a private chef who can cook and cater dinners in your own flat.
Tenants of the Barangaroo building also have access to the hotel's services, including a swimming pool, tennis court, gym, day spa, and dining at the Crown's 14 restaurants and bars.
An overnight stay for a couple in a deluxe king room can cost US$899, with a three-night stay costing US$2,907.
If a buyer wants to purchase one of the 82 residences in the tower outright, the starting price through the door is $9.5 million.
"The properties themselves feature high-end fittings and sophisticated finishes compared to anything else on the market, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing stunning harbour views."
