A builder designed and built the five-bedroom property in Revesby for his family in December 2020, with a guide price of $2.95 million for the property.
The record for the highest residential sale in the suburb is currently set by 47 Weston Street, which sold in December 2021 for $2.125 million.
Luxury car owners from Melbourne flew in to inspect 56 Centaur St on the opening weekend and were captivated by the 10-car basement car park.
More than 45 groups also attended the first week of inspections, mainly families seeking a larger home in an area of Sydney with a median price of $1.25 million.
Abir Eddine, an agent with LJ Hooker, said builder families no longer wanted two-storey homes and wanted to build larger properties elsewhere in Sydney.
"As well as car lovers from Melbourne, we had expanding families from the Central Coast and the surrounding suburbs of Padstow and Hurstville come to look at the property.
"It is a luxurious, high quality building that is priced at $2.95 million due to its location and views from the balcony over the nearby Virginius Reserve.
"Over the last few months we have been slowly increasing interest in the market with recent sales of $1.46 million and $1.265 million for duplexes in the suburbs, attracting buyers who have not found available stock in Padstow."
Features of the double-brick concrete slab home include an indoor cinema, a heated swimming pool with a barbecue deck, and a gym next to the garage.
The property is powered by solar panels and includes a 3,000-litre underground rainwater tank. Ms Edin said the concrete roof and remote fireplace also made the property unique.
"We think $2.95 million is a good price for a recently built luxury corner home, perhaps better than the $2.9 million property we sold at 36 Villiers Rd in Padstow Heights last year."
The property will go to auction on May 6.
